I am running for School Board because I believe that we presently lack the leadership to ensure that the students of Alachua County are provided EVERY opportunity to become productive members of our community. I will work hard to make certain that the tax payers of Alachua County know exactly HOW and WHERE their tax dollars are spent by creating a policy of fiscal responsibility, accountability and transparency with all dealings of the school board. I will work with school board members and leaders in our community to create a school system that will settle for NOTHING less than excellence.

•1980 to 1983 US Army with Honorable Discharge
•1983 to 1988 Restaurant Owner
•1989 to 1996 Supermarket Owner
•1996 to 1999 University of Florida/substitute teacher in various schools in the county
•1999 to present Teacher at Talbot Elementary

•Masters Degree in Education from the University of Florida
•Certified to teach gifted children
•Presently teaching at Talbot Elementary (An A school)
•Alachua County Science Teacher of the Year 2005
•Coach of the Science, Engineering, Communications and Math Enrichment (SECME) team at Talbot Elementary, which has won 5 of the past 6 UF sponsored competitions
•Daily face-to-face interaction with those impacted the most by School Board Decisions: Students & their families
•Experience in business as a restaurant and grocery store owner
•Present owner of Afterschool program (GASP), which provides quality care for students

•No other agenda than to do what is best for students in Alachua County
•Will stop the waste of tax payers money
•Will introduce ways to allow the school system to earn funding
•Will ensure transparency and accountability in School Board dealings
